Understanding creativity?
What should we read about creativity?
I recently had a fruitful discussion with one of my very smart colleagues, who is a Dean with a background in Computer Sciences. We talked about how different fields see creativity – arts, sciences, design and many more. Creativity, and building creative capacities into organisations, is one of the buzzwords of our time, but do we actually know what we are talking about when we mention the c-word? And do we all mean the same thing with it? Maybe it means something completely different for different fields?

I thought this was an excellent challenge, to find out what different fields say about creativity and how they tackle it. And it would be really interesting to read more, and outside my typical safety zones. 🙂
So far, I have found a few good starting points. Psychologist Michaly Csikszentmihalyi has several books related to this, and Elkhonon Goldberg writes about creativity from a neuroscience point of view (book reviews on these are upcoming).
But now I need your help. Who are the most interesting authors about creativity? What should I read? And from different fields point of view? Please give me suggestions! And also tell me what would be interesting for you to read a review about. Any ideas and recommendations are warmly welcomed.
Thank you so much!
